Mikasa Dinnerware Sets

Mikasa dinnerware sets are quite easily some of my favorite dishes of all time. I use mine constantly, incessantly, well... a lot! And there is a very good reason for that which is that they are fantastic dishes that go great in just about every dining situation you could possibly have from casual all the way up to elegant fine dining and everything in between.

Today I'm going to talk about several different options you have when it comes to Mikasa dinnerware. I'm going to discuss several of my favorite sets that will give you a pretty good understanding of what is available to you at the different prices so that you know exactly what you can expect from these great dishes.

Mikasa Antique White 45-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 8 at around $200 I consider this a fairly elegant set. Completely white in color these dishes scream fine dining in a subdued manner. As the name implies this is a 45 piece set that includes service for eight. You will get a five piece serving set and 8 of each of these plates; a 10 inch dinner plate, 8 inch salad plate, 10 inch bowl, 6 1/2 inch saucer, 10 ounce teacup. These pieces are crafted of fine chip resistant China that will give you long-lasting beauty even under massive use. They are colonial inspired in style and feature what can only be described as scalloped edges with a sort of gently raised ridge. Safe for dishwasher and microwave use, these plates really hold up over time.

Mikasa Parchment Red 40-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 8 at around one hundred dollars I thought I would jump to something a little more fun though no less elegant, and that's exactly how I would describe this set. They are a 40 piece red formal parchment set with fine china pattern. They come with 8 each of these pieces; dinner plate, salad plate, soup plate, teacup, and saucer. There is serveware available that will coordinate with these pieces as needed. To describe how these dishes look I would say that they have a deep red border that is very lavishly decorated with sort of gold filigree which makes you think they may not be but in fact they are dishwasher safe. Very nice dishes.

Mikasa Italian Countryside 45-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 8 at around $200 this is another set that I would call mostly formal in nature but you can certainly use them in more casual atmospheres. It contains eight each of the following dishes; dinner plate, salad plate, rimmed soup plate, teacup, and saucer. It also comes with a 12 inch round platter, as well as a round vegetable bowl, a sugar bowl with lid, and creamer. These dishes are all white Ironstone textured with a sort of finely ribbed side and bas relief garland borders. Dishwasher, microwave, freezer, and oven warming safe these dishes will hold up very well.

Mikasa Sophia Taupe 5 Piece Place Setting finally I had to mention this set because they are stunningly sophisticated looking and it only $60 you cannot go wrong with this five piece set that includes a dinner plate, salad plate, bread and butter plate, cup and saucer. They are fine china but dishwasher safe and I would describe the color as a sort of off tan, almost gray but still beige rimmed with white centers... very nice.

As you see, when it comes to mikasa dinnerware sets you have many options that are both elegant and casual and though I have only barely scratched the surface today of what is available, I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding exactly the right dish to fit your needs.
